Very Cute I Am

When we were invited to a Halloween Party this year my DIY instincts kicked into overdrive. I immediately knew what costumes needed to be put together and I’m pleased to report that my craft-focused labor was worth every stitch, scissor-cutting, sticky tape filled second!

While pregnant during this time last year Stephen shared a costume idea with me for our child’s first Halloween. We didn’t know if we were having a boy or girl at the time, but I knew we could make it work either way. I think he was surprised and pleased that I not only remembered his idea, but followed through on the costume. Let me get straight to the pictures for you…

Baby Ringl’s 1st Halloween:

Yep, we did it. We dressed our sweet little girl up as Yoda for Halloween.

I have to say, she’s the cutest Yoda I’ve ever seen!

This picture melts my heart
Yoda on Han Solo’s shoulders
(while the picture it isn’t accurate to the movies, you will understand below)

Leia and Yoda

.

The 2011 Ringl Halloween

To keep from grossing anyone out, Stephen was Han Solo and I was Leia. That way when we kissed it wasn’t any weird form of incest, just plain old fashioned attraction :)

To top off all the fun, I am very excited that we were able to actually make and piece together all 3 costumes! From Han Solos Corellian Bloodstripe pants to Yoda’s felty 3-fingered hands and feet.

While at the party we put a pink bow on her Yoda ear so everyone would know she was a Ms. Yoda. The costumes were definitely a hit! If we were voting I’d say she won the 2011 Best Costume award! I suppose I should thank Mr. Lucas for the inspiration. Thanks George!

Better Late than Never

It seems I totally forgot to post pictures from our 4th of July trip to Lake Martin. I guess after my mom posted pictures on facebook and my sister made a post about the trip I simply didn’t think about it…

Here are some of the goodies from our trip.

.

Sarah loves cuddling with Aunt Vicci. She has special napping-powers!

.

Love those eyes :)

.

We love hanging out on the porch!!

My brother Jeff turtle hunting…

It was our first time with Sarah down by the water and she had a blast  :)

Mom can always get a smile out of her!

Did anyone else travel for the 4th of July?! Maybe you shot off fireworks, or went to a show? I wish I had played with sparklers, they’re my favorite! I’ve always wanted a picture where I have my name written out with a sparkler. My mom has one and I love it. Can anyone teach me how to do that?! If so drop me a note so I can take some lessons from you. I can offer you about $3.00, or maybe we can trade? Alright people, it’s time to start bartering again. I want a goat! Who has one and what can I trade ya for it?!

Wow, that got off subject real fast…

Sun & Water

I feel like the title should follow with “Earth, Heart. Captain Planet, he’s our hero…”. That was some solid 90′s television!

So far this weekend has been filled with family, naps, cinnamon bread, and floating in the lake, and it’s only Saturday!!

Here is a picture to show you a glimpse of all the fun and cuteness involved.

I think we may have a water bug on our hands, yay! :)

Dads Day

Happy Fathers Day to the most wonderful husband, and amazing dad I know!

We love you so very much!!!

An 8 Week Old Bunny

In celebration of Easter we took some fun pictures of our little girl in her sweet Sunday outfit, with a fun little addition.

.

Isn’t she adorable!!  I decided to use this picture because it shows so much of Sarah’s personality. She has become SO curious, looking around constantly with big curious eyes. It’s so much fun watching her grow!

We have to say a special thanks to sweet little Bella for the ears. She gave them to Sarah at her birthday party at the beginning of the month. We couldn’t have made this happen without ya!

A Wonderful Easter

The day started out perfect… gotta love the sunshine state!

.

Stephen had to be at church around 6AM on Sunday for the {Son}rise Service, so I stayed at my parents Saturday night.

My parents decided to break the traditional Easter ham lunch and instead grilled bbq chicken, which I think was a fine and delicious choice. It was so wonderful and fun having all of my family together. We have gone from a family of 6 to a family of 10, well actually 11.75 with the additions of Sarah and Graycie :)

It’s always so fun when we sit around the kitchen table and just talk for hours. We actually relaxed so much this weekend we didn’t even play a board game, which almost always happens. Somehow, in all the relaxing down time, we didn’t snap a group photo either… that’s probably a first for a Wells family get together.

Here are just a few that we got on my phone…

I am SO very thankful for these two!

I absolutely LOVE that Sarah is looking at the camera AND smiling. How precious is that!?!?! She’s a fast learner :)

It was a lovely Easter. I am definitely looking forward to next year when we can hide eggs and help Sarah find them. Oh, the fun that will ensue…

Christmas: All Wrapped Up

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. While playing a board game on Sunday night I had a sudden realization that the next day was Monday and Stephen would be getting up and heading to work in the morning. Yes, a usual routine, but because he was off Thursday & Friday I got used to having him around during the day. I was spoiled with quality hubby time, and it was great!

On Friday, Christmas Eve, we had some friends get into town and decided to have some hangout time. We all met up at our friends, Brandon and Nicoles, and had Christmas Eve Briner! With ‘Christmas Vacation’ on in the background we busted out the 3 waffle irons we brought and had a delicious feast. Here’s an example: my Christmas Eve Waffle:

.

After dinner we played some cards, a new game that was brought to us from a friend in Texas called “7-up, 7-down” (I just call it “Texas”). Then Stephen and I drove home so we could get some rest before our busy Christmas day plans.

Here are a few pictures of our Christmas activities.

I couldn’t resist this when I saw it
Stephen loves it!!

Stephen got me this fun shirt:

Last, but not least, stocking time!!

.

We opened our stockings last and Stephen did a great job of filling mine with my favorite candies!!

How was everyone else’s Christmas? Did you do anything special?  I know I especially can’t wait until NEXT Christmas. We had so much fun thinking and talking about how different and exciting next year will be with baby Ringl around :)

Merry Christmas Weekend

It’s Christmas Eve and I am snuggled up on the couch, excited that all my Christmas shopping was completed yesterday so I don’t have to run a single errand. My sister and I went last-minute shopping yesterday and finished off our lists. While the parking lots were crazy (which is why I park far away and just walk), the stores didn’t feel too crowded so we were able to swoop in and snatch what we needed. We then stopped off at my parents and had lunch with mom and dad, a fun last-minute decision!  While there I was able to get in my “28 week” prego picture, which was a last second thing since today started week 29 !  Last night we had a last-minute hangout with some friends and played cards. They helped me devour our Christmas popcorn tin Stephen couldn’t resist when picking up my vitamins. Thanks guys, the last thing I need to top-off on my own is a giant thing of multi-flavored popcorn (no matter how delicious it is)!

Today I plan on relaxing with my hubby, wrapping the few presents I picked up yesterday, and enjoying this 3-day weekend we have to spend with friends and family!

Next week should be full of fun posts. I’ll get to share the festivities of Christmas, the gifts we gave and received, as well as a new furniture addition to our home :)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  Now, for some catch-up pictures.

In case you are wondering we did not leave with either of those awesome frames. My family knows how to play Dirty Santa, we’re relentless! I also hope you enjoy the goofy picture of Stephen and myself. It was one fun party!

Christmas in Mississippi

This past weekend was my families Dirty Santa Christmas Party over in Biloxi. It is one of the things I look forward to most about the holidays. We always have so much fun, and this year did not disappoint.

On Saturday we traveled with my sister and her husband into Mississippi to hangout at my grandmas before the party.

I was bad at taking pictures, so this is all I could get my hands on. I’ll update later with the Dirty Santa side of the party. I love stirring up trouble with stealing gifts, and it isn’t difficult to do when you’ve got family with good taste!

O Christmas Tree

Last week we finally jumped on the bandwagon and got ourselves a Christmas tree. We’ve been a little behind on getting things done and ready for the holidays, but better late than never!

To set the mood my parents and sister came over, we had ourselves some delicious homemade potato soup, and then we headed out to search the town.

This is what our living room looked like before the tree:

.

and here it is after our successful search:

.

.

I still have a bit of decorating to do, but at least we finally got ourselves a tree!  Having the tree made it a bit easier to get in the Christmas spirit, so I got our tree skirt in place and all our presents are now wrapped and in place.

While mom was over one day we decorated a little around the house. Since we don’t have a fireplace I had to find a way to hang our stockings, not the easiest task, but we managed (I look forward to a home with a fireplace one day). We almost bought one of those electric fireplaces last year, but decided against it when we couldn’t find a furniture layout that would accommodate it.

We now have 6 days until Christmas, and I’ve only got 4 more presents to get. I know WHAT I’m getting, I just gotta get out the door and get them in my hands. I sadly haven’t gotten around to making a wreath this year (I made this one last year). Who knows, I still have a few days…
