Can you believe it’s already June?! Time sure is flying by as we watch our little girl grow up. We’re soaking up every moment with her while it’s still just the 3 of us. December will be here before we know it.
Hope the start of your summer has been as enjoyable as ours.

Houseguests

The last week of March our good friends Sara, Jordan, and their little man Jairus stayed with us at Casa de Ringl. I can not tell you how fun it was to have them in our home for a week. They are going to be spending a lot of time traveling the US to raise support for their move to Uruguay next Spring to be missionaries, so we’re trying to get as much hang time as we can :)

I’m pretty sure Sarah loved having them over even more than I did! She had SO much fun playing with Jairus and stealing each others sippy cups. The week after they left Sarah searched the house for days looking for them. She would knock on all the closed doors so I had to keep them open so she could see the rooms were empty. Poor girl misses her buddy.

Here they are hanging in the kitchen…

I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since Sara had Jairus! The kids are exactly 2 months apart, March 6 (Sarah) and May 6th (Jairus). It was a blast being pregnant together and now we are raising our kiddos. Wow, we’re adults! haha

Here we are 11 months ago…

and 2 weeks ago…

.

Wow, those two have grown, and I need to get some under eye concealer. Babies can give you bags under your eyes… just a forewarning to all your lovely ladies out there ;)

The Bush family are now busy traveling north, west, east, and then south again sometime later this summer. All I know is I can’t wait to hug their necks again and squeeze on baby J. He is such a love bug and our little Sarah misses him like crazy.

It had been a long time since we’d had houseguest, so it gave me a reason to clean our guest room. I suppose I should have thanked them for staying with us and forcing me to clean, haha.

Having friends over is fun. I totally recommend you try it out. Let me know how it goes ;)

A Bucket of Fun

I may not have felt this way Sunday morning, but I am officially a fan of spring forward! Not only is it great having more sun in the evening, but Sarah still hasn’t quite adjusted and has slept past 7 every morning! I never knew I could be so excited about sleeping until 7am… the adjustments of parenthood :)

Besides getting to “sleep in” this week we’ve also been enjoying the incredible spring weather we’re getting. This entire week has been full of perfect blue skies.

On Wednesday we had a day packed full of fun. I got to visit my friend Melissa and her sister and niece, then my friend, Sara, and her hubs Jordan and little man Jairus came over for a visit. Sarah and Jairus are 2 months apart and are so fun to watch together. The weather was too perfect to hang out indoors so we went on the back porch. After letting the kids swap turns in the swing we decided to let them play in some water. I had no idea a bucket of water could be so fun AND adorable!

These pictures will prove it to ya : )

I’m sure it’s obvious that we have had an extra fun week! Sarah is all over the place now that she’s walk/running. The past week we explored buckets of water, bubble machines, and next up I’m planning on kiddie pools and beach trips!! I think I’m more excited than Sarah is… hehe.

Babies & Birthdays

This past weekend we were able to celebrate another little birthday with some awesome friends. One of Sarah’s best buds, Rory, was born a week after she was so the girls share the same birthday month. They threw a fun party that the kids had a blast at. With all the running around and goofing off they wore each other all out and took some great afternoon naps (which is always a bonus in my book)!

We had a wonderful and fun time watching the kids celebrate Year 1 with balloons, cupcakes, presents, and even a piñata! I’m especially excited that Jill, Scott, and Rory are moving right down the street from my sister in law! Talk about play date central!

It was a fantastic party watching all the kids run around and chase balloons while knocking each other over. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and that always makes me extra cheery.

I honestly cannot tell you how incredible and helpful it has been having a friend with a baby the same age as Sarah. Jill has been such an encouragement to me when I have questions or am having a rough day. We texted each other at all hours asking one another’s opinions and advice. She was probably my biggest encouragement when it came to nursing and not giving up during the hardest points. I can never thank her enough for that!

On another note, Sarah is still adjusting to the time change and has been sleeping in until 7-8’ish, which I’m 1000% okay with! Of course seeing that she is our alarm in the morning it maaaaaay mean we slept in Monday morning. Oops. Live and Learn.

It came to my attention that I never posted anything about our thanksgiving activities.

I’ll sum it up for ya real quick and instead of typing a bunch of stuff just include some photos. After all, nothing gives a better mental image than an image itself.

Birthday Celebratin’

On Monday night we got together with our friends the McKenzies. It was an extra special night for two reasons. First, it was Brandon’s birthday, so yummy cake was involved. Second, we had 2 extra McKenzies in attendance. Rebekah and sweet Adelaide were able to join us, which made it that much more fun! You can never go wrong when you have not 1, but 2 cute babies to play with :)

This first picture cracks me up because Adelaide was totally fascinated while watching Man vs Wild. She is so sweet and fun and chill. I’ve loved getting to spend time with these 2 ladies.

.

Here’s Nicole with Sarah. Sarah loves spending time with Nicole. I love it :)

.

Sarah has really loved hanging out with Adelaide. She specifically loves her feet, haha. I have to keep her from grabbing and eating her feet and trying to play with her face. She is definitely a hands-on player. That’s probably because we let her play with our nose and mouth when we make funny faces. The things you do to make your kiddo laugh!

This is my only picture I got of the Birthday Boy :)
Sarah was having a blast

.

After a delicious dinner of pulled pork we played some cards, which was a blast. I didn’t think the night could get any better and then Nicole pulled out the Oreo ice cream cake. Oh yes, it was as good as it sounds!

We had a lot of fun celebrating with Brandon on his birthday. We made sure to surprise him with some Red Vines…

Yes, we went with the 4 lb bucket. Go big or go home folks ;)

Before the night ended I made sure to get a photo of all us girls
(Sadly, Sarah was already asleep at this point)

.

I made it a priority to grab the picture since (sadly) Rebekah and Adelaide leave to go home tomorrow. I was excited to hear that they will be back for Christmas, which means more play dates, craft days, and fun card games!

The night ended with us packing up the babies and heading home. I just wish every Monday night could be as fun as this one was :)

The Bucket Swing

I tell you what, our little girl surprises me sometimes with how much she and I are alike.

On Friday I went and visited with my friend Amanda. She has two sweet girls, Ava & Charlie, and we love when we get to spend time with the Coley clan. While we were hanging out we decided to take the kids outside and try Sarah out with the swingset. I have been hoping that she would love sitting in a swing because I LOVE sitting on the swing. Heck for Christmas last year Stephen had a swing made for me to hang on the front porch! Pretty much every time I go to my parents we spend some time in the backyard sitting on the swings.

Well it was a happy and exciting time for me when Sarah didn’t freak out during this new activity…

She looks a little small for it, but she was safely strapped in :)

The girls liked pushing her too.

Ava is such a helper. She’s a great big sister. I know she can’t wait until Sarah is a little older and can walk and play. She named her baby doll Sarah which totally melts my heart!

Next up is Charlie

Talk about a cutie pie, am I right? I mean she’s dolled up in her dress-up high heels and everything! Her little pigtails make me SO excited for when Sarah’s hair gets long enough to play with!

From the evidence of the photos you can see that Sarah isn’t screaming or freaking out in any of them. She seemed really relaxed and content. She loves movement, so it didn’t surprise me too much.

Needless to say, I definitely know what we’re adding to her first Christmas list!

Boxes and Highways

One of my best friends is moving. As a matter of fact they are packing up at this moment and driving out tomorrow.

I’m always full of mixed emotions when people I care about move. It’s such an exciting and sad time when loved ones start a new adventure. I am thrilled for my sweet friend Sara, along with her hubby Jordan and sweet baby boy Jairus. I know we will keep in touch and I can’t wait to see and hear what the Lord is going to do in their lives.

Sara and I met back in 2008, just after Stephen and I got married, and we instantly hit it off. You know how you can meet someone and you just click? That’s us. So when she told me she was moving my heart sank. Not only is she one of my best friends, but her baby boy is one of my favorite babies in the world! It’s like a double whammy. There is some good news though, they will hopefully be moving back to town before next summer (I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed). Jairus is exactly 2 months younger than our little Sarah. He was actually born a few weeks early surprising us all on May 6th, and because of that I will never forget his birthday. Sara and I were pregnant together, which was so wonderful. Having someone to confide in, complain to, and grow larger with was so much fun! I truly believe that over the past 3 1/2 years God has orchestrated a lot of things to draw us closer.

On Monday I went over to Sara’s apartment to help her pack. We actually spent quite a bit of time watching and snapping photos of these two cuties…

.

I love how Sarah stares at Jairus. She is SO fascinated by him.

This picture cracks me up. He is going to be such a protector of his momma!

,

.

Jairus was not a fan of her going after his toes
I love how it looks like she’s talking to him

.

Babies are such a packing-distraction!

On Tuesday we met with the Bush family for lunch at Tijuana Flats. Jairus napped the entire time while we all took turns eating and passing baby Sarah around because she is so crazy active. Our little ones are actually complete opposites. Other than the fact that she has a boy and I have a girl, their personalities are so different. Jairus is a cuddly snuggler that loves to nap and will just chill anywhere without complaining. Sarah hardly naps and hasn’t cuddled since she learned how to move her arms, and wants to constantly be moving and entertained. We like to swap babies when we hang out :)

.

I’m really gonna miss these moments
(Jairus was STILL napping. Me=Jealous)

Now you are caught up on what’s been going on the past few days in my life. Our 2 families are gonna be Skyping on a regular basis as we all are working towards memorizing the book of Galatians. I think I’m in last place right now (yikes!) I think it will help that we are all doing this together. Stephen and Sara are the 2 people that motivate me more than anyone, so I’m very glad and thankful that the internet is around to help keep our families easily connected :)

I think I need a sign to wear that says something like “My Friend Moved: Need Time and Laughter Void Filled”. I wonder if they carry those at Target…

A Little Catch Up

While I was sitting here eating too many oatmeal chocolate chip cookies while watching some season 2 episodes of The Office I figured I should take the time to finally update this thing, especially since I deleted my facebook account (which is how most people probably kept up with me).

Okay, let’s see, what’s new…

This past Saturday we dropped Sarah off at Gma and Gpa’s house and headed downtown to see our sweet friend, Haley DuBois (now Hunter), get married. Her dad, Jon, was our college minister and later married Stephen and I. They are a super sweet family and we had a great time celebrating with them!

This is Haley with her new husband, Josh:

It blows my mind that Haley is married. She was in middle school when I first met her, and now she’s a college graduate and married!  Dagumm, time flies!

Here’s me and my handsome hubby at the reception :)

I had to share this recent picture. That girl seriously cracks me up! She makes me laugh so many times every single day. She’s the best :)

.

My sister is a teacher and had the summer off so we have gotten to do a few fun things. One thing we did was go to her mother-in-laws and take advantage of their swimming pool. Sarah had an absolute blast! I wasn’t sure if she would like the water, but turns out she LOVES the water!!

.

Here she is swimming with Aunt Miriah

.

She “swims” like a frog, it’s absolutely adorable!!

.

When Stephen and the church youth were coming back from camp they made a stop and we were able to meet up with them. That stop was at the Foley Outlet Center, which means Sarah had her first trip to the outlets :)  She did great but due to the crazy heat we left after about 2 hours. It was hiz-ot! Yes, I did just say hiz-ot, it’s late and I’m on a sugar high from a cookie overdose…

Have I mentioned yet how much I miss this girl?!?!

Last week my Grandma came over from Biloxi. Here she is taking a nap with Sarah.

I’ve got a few projects I have been wanting to share so more updates soon!

A Trip full of Travels

The Ringl ladies have been some busy travelers over the past week and a half. Last Monday Stephen took our church youth group to Centrifuge. After they loaded the van and headed out Sarah and I packed up the car and headed over to my parents for the week. Have you packed for a week long trip for a baby!? You pack A LOT, you know, for all those 400,000 ‘just in case’ scenarios that play through your head.

While we were missing Stephen like CRAZY, my parents did a great job of helping me relax and have a good time. Heck, minus the fact that I was missing my hubby I had a great time. It was like a vacation where I didn’t have to pay for my room and the chef was my dad. I had steak one night, and grilled chicken with pineapple sandwiches another time. Did I mention that my mom took care of Sarah when she woke up and I got to sleep until 8!! That made for 5 straight hours (Sarah wakes up to eat around 2-3 right now)! Totally spoiled me.

After a few days of hanging around the house mom and I decided to take a last minute trip to Biloxi to visit family. Wednesday to Friday we had a blast relaxing and catching up while they all got to love on Sarah.

On our drive home Friday mom and I stopped off at the University of Mobile to visit Stephen and Miriah at Centrifuge. Miriah went with them as a counselor and was also in charge of video/photos. When we arrived Stephen gravitated to Sarah and pulled her in for some hugs and kisses. She is one loved little girl, especially since Stephen had 5 days to make up for!

Enough talking, here are some pictures to show you how it all went down.
